What is Boot Camp Challenge? Boot Camp Challenge is a licensed nationwide program that was developed by a seasoned personal trainer/aerobic instructor. Lori Patterson, the developer of the program also served several years in the United States Army. She developed the program based on her knowledge and experience. The program is very unique and completely results-based. It not only encompasses fitness, but nutritional guidance and group camaraderie is a large part of the program as well. Check out Lori's website at http://www.bootcamp-challenge.com/ What should I expect from each class? There are 18 classes in each session. Day 1 will be introduction and nutrition day. The instructor will introduce the participants to the program and have everyone sign necessary paperwork. The group will then go over the nutrition program and each participant will receive guidelines for their caloric intake, fat, carbs, and protein intake based on their individual goals. Day 2 and day 18 will be assessment days. Each participant will have their body composition measured and their measurements taken. They will participate in a 1-mile jog/walk, 2 minute push-up test and 2 minute sit-up test. Day 2 will develop a baseline and day 18 will determine how much each participant has improved. The remaining 15 workouts will be group personal training workouts. Each client will work on improving their cardiovascular and muscular endurance as well as flexibility and balance. Each client is expected to work hard, out of their comfort zone. When and where will the program take place? The program is generally 6 weeks long, 3x per week, for one hour each time. Starting in January of 2008 BCC will have several locations including the Clifton Commons in Clifton Park, Malta Health and Fitness, The Court Club in Colonie and Pil-Sung Martial Arts Center on Central Avenue in Albany. I have to be at work and only have an hour. Will we start and end on time? Class will start and end promptly each session. Each participant is highly encouraged to arrive on time or they will have to “pay” with a drill of the instructor’s choice. Will we have access to showers? Malta Health and Fitness, The Schenectady JCC, and The Court Club have shower facilities available to all bootcampers at no additional charge. Clifton Commons and Pil-Sung Martial Arts do not. I have not exercised in a long time. Is this program too advanced for me? You don’t have to be in shape to take the program. Men and women of all levels are welcome. The instructor will conduct a brief health assessment on each client before the start of the program to determine any limitations. The instructor will modify the workouts for each person depending on their specific needs. I am an avid exerciser. Is this program too easy for me? NO! Don’t worry, the instructor will make sure even the avid exerciser will be challenged. How much weight should I expect to lose in six weeks? Boot Camp Challenge is not a weight loss program. Most clients however, will lose some weight in the 6 week program depending on how much their lifestyle changes. Each person will achieve different results. Expect to see an improvement in one or more of the following areas:
o Inches will decrease (clothes will fit better) o Cardiovascular endurance o Muscular endurance o Flexibility and balance o Energy levels o Stress levels may decrease o Sleep may improve o Blood pressure and cholesterol o Self esteem and self confidence I can only take the class two times per week. Will the instructor prorate the cost for me? The instructor cannot prorate the cost for anyone. However, participants may be able to make up any missed classes due to travel or emergency at another Boot Camp Challenge launch site. What is your refund policy? Generally there are no refunds after the session begins. Credit may be given toward another boot camp based on the discretion of the instructor. What is the cost? $250 for the 6-week program for a new recruit. Discounts may apply for returning bootcampers. Are there any coupons or discounts?
